About Sarajevo

Sarajevo is the capital and largest city of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Sarajevo metropolitan area, including The Canton of Sarajevo and East Sarajevo is home to over 675,000 inhabitants. Moreover, it is also the capital of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina entity, and the center of the Sarajevo Canton.

Nestled within the greater Sarajevo valley of Bosnia, it is surrounded by the Dinaric Alps and situated along the Miljacka River in the heart of Southeastern Europe and the Balkans.

With youth initiatives, successful and enterprising people, who have together decided to offer their knowledge and lead global trends in BiH, Sarajevo could take the road of the world's great metropolises that decided to join the Smart City initiative.

This means a reduction in electricity consumption aided by innovative IT solutions, introduction of alternative modes of transportation in order to reduce CO2 and facilitating the lives of citizens through the use of new technologies.
